High tech for your body. The GORE-TEX® membrane is at the heart of all GORE-TEX® products. It is completely wind and waterproof, but permeable for water vapor. The result: water from the outside will never penetrate, cold winds cannot pass through and perspiration can escape easily. This is why your body always stays dry and comfortable with GORE-TEX® products.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is integrated into GORE-TEX® garments between the outer material and the lining. It is a perfect barrier to rain and wind, whilst allowing perspiration to escape. Even in cases of extreme physical exertion, humidity will be transported to the outside of the clothing system. You always stay comfortable in GORE-TEX® garments.

Every new GORE-TEX ® prototype is put through its paces in the Gore testing labs. Not only the GORE-TEX ® fabric is tested, the entire system of outer material, insulation, membrane and lining has to prove its excellence under the toughest conditions. Only when a garment fulfills the high construction standards of GORE-TEX ® product is it cleared for production.

Designed to provide breathable comfort and durably waterproof and windproof protection, 2-layer GORE-TEX® Performance Shells are ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities. A specific GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded to the outer material and protected on the inside by a separate lining.

Features the lightest, most packable fabrics. GORE-TEX® Paclite ® Shells are durably waterproof, windproof and extremely breathable and are ideal when weight and space are critical. GORE-TEX® Paclite ® Shells use a specific GORE-TEX® membrane with a protective layer on the inside made of an oil-hating substance and carbon.

Constructed with soft and warm fabrics, the durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable GORE-TEX® Soft Shells are designed for reduced layering and improved freedom of movement in colder conditions. Here, a specific  GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded directly to the outer fabric and a fleecy liner on the inside.

The WINDSTOPPER® membrane is an ultra thin protective layer which is laminated to a lightweight textile layer, making it totally windproof. It is made of the versatile polymer PTFE (Polytetrafluroethylene) which is expanded to create a microporous structure. These micropores are 900 times larger than water vapor molecules, allowing perspiration to pass through unhindered. This means that the WINDSTOPPER ® membrane adds total windproofness to any textile  without percievably restricting its initial breathability or weight.

WINDSTOPPER ® products offer reliable protection from the windchill effect. As a result the body can devote more energy to the activity than to regulating the microclimate. This means that you can stay outside longer enjoying your favourite activity in the widest range of weather conditions.
