Give Peat a Chance

For peat's sake, Yorkshire's peatlands need our help.

TOG24 is supporting Yorkshire Wildlife Trust with their Give Peat a Chance campaign, with the aim of restoring the entirety of Yorkshire’s upland peatland by 2035

Restore our peatlands

Approximately 80% of our region's peatlands have been damaged in some way. Our friends at Yorkshire Wildlife Trust have been working hard for the past 15 years through Yorkshire Peat Partnership, helping to restore crucially important moorland around Yorkshire.

Revitalising nature

An area larger than the size of Bradford is now recovering and providing important habitat for local wildlife and acting as a huge carbon store, offsetting deadly climate change. They also slow the flow of rainwater off the hills, which helps reduce the risk of flooding in populated areas. A real win win.
